TUI MINE REMEDIATION PROJECT, MT TE AROHA
The Tui Mine Remediation project, recognized as one of New Zealand’s most contaminated sites, involved a multi-million dollar, multi-stakeholder effort to restore and stabilize the area. The project encompassed detailed investigations, design trials, and compliance with environmental regulations. Key components included the remediation of underground mine tunnels, stabilization of tailings, and the rehabilitation of the surrounding site. Over the course of three years, the project successfully transformed the site into a safer and more environmentally sustainable area, meeting all necessary environmental and safety standards.

PENINSULA PROJECT, COROMANDEL PENINSULA
Following devastating flood damage along the Thames Coast in 2002, the Peninsula Project was launched to provide flood protection for vulnerable communities, including Tararu, Te Puru, Waiomu, and Coromandel Town. The initiative involved extensive investigations, feasibility studies, and the development of flood control schemes tailored to the region’s unique challenges. With funding secured through a successful business case to Central Government, the project also incorporated comprehensive catchment and river management measures, ensuring long-term protection and environmental sustainability across the Coromandel Peninsula.

TAURANGA-TAUPO AND TONGARIRO FLOD CONTROL SCHEMES
The Tauranga-Taupo and Tongariro Flood Protection Schemes were comprehensive flood management initiatives designed to enhance community resilience against future flooding events. The Tauranga-Taupo project was completed with the development of an asset management plan post-construction, ensuring long-term sustainability. The Tongariro Scheme encompassed everything from conceptual design and community engagement to obtaining consents, contractor procurement, and construction oversight. These flood control measures significantly improved the flood resilience of the affected areas, protecting communities and infrastructure.
